BOTOX®, FILLER'S AND PRP INJECTIONS

SELECTING A SPECIALIST

Finding and selecting the best filler injection or botox injection specialist can be a difficult task. With the onslaught of consumer advertising from companies like Radiesse, Botox, Juvederm, Restylane, Dysport and others, it is nearly impossible to understand the differences between the products and who is best suited to inject on your behalf.

Whether your being injected with Juvederm or Botox or any of the other products, it is important that you realize some important facts regarding filler injections.

Questions

Asking the following questions before having a cosmetic procedure can help patients find a qualified specialist and avoid complications:

  • Who will perform the procedure and where?  A specialist should either be a physician or a registered nurse (RN) in a physician's office.
  • How many times has the specialist performed the procedure?   The procedure should be one that the specialist performs regularly.
  • What results can I expect?  Results depend largely on the specialist's skill as well as the patient’s skin, age and health.
  • May I see “before” and “after” photographs of patients or speak with patients whom the specialist has treated with this procedure(s)?   A good specialist will be more than happy to provide this information.
  • What is the recovery time?   There is really no "recovery" time.  Treatments may require after care in order to achieve the best results possible.  Patients should follow their specialist's post-treatment instructions carefully.
  • What are the risks and side effects of the procedure?   While the risks involved in most cosmetic procedures are minimal, there are risks. Potential complications should be discussed before the cosmetic procedure is scheduled.
  • How long will the results last?   Everyone metabolizes the product at a different rate therefore affecting how long it lasts.  It also depends on whether or not you have had it before.
  • What is the cost of the treatment?   Insurance usually does not cover the cost of a cosmetic procedure.  Before scheduling the procedure, find out the costs and how payment will be required.

Of course, you probably have many more questions regarding botox and filler injections so please give me a call,  I will be more than happy to give you all the honest answers you need.
